My Story

Born and raised in Southern California, Ryan learned the craft of elite athlete training at an early age. He has been no stranger to high level competition and has been a part of multiple winning teams from the high school level (North High) to the D-1 level (San Jose State University). Ryan got his first start as a strength and conditioning coach at Velocity Sports Performance (Redondo Beach) while simultaneously excelling as an Equinox Tier 3+ trainer at the South Bay location. Through both positions he has coached athletes spanning from the NFL, MLB, USWNT, NCAA basketball, NCAA track and high school football. While at Velocity Sports Performance he served as an assistant coach for athletes training for the 2009 and 2010 NFL Combines. In addition, Ryan has catapulted multiple high school football athletes to an All Area Selection and prepared Tier 1 elite hockey players for professional drafts in the NHL,USHL and BCHL.

Equipped with a wealth of experience and knowledge in the field, Ryan has helped various athletes at every level achieve their goals. He has served as fitness creative director for fitness videos featuring Kristi Yamaguchi and Erin O'Brien Denton (celebrity trainer).

His years of working with a wide array of clients in the industry and having a successful track record has made him so impactful in the industry. In addition, since 2011, he has contributed to fitness on a global scale as a Nike Master Trainer and has given presentations to thousands of people on behalf of Nike Inc. Ryan has traveled the world consulting for product development, trained Nike celebs and athletes, contributed to events and has lead hundreds of participants in weekly workouts for the Nike Training Club fitness program as well as contributing training workouts to Nike’s training app (Nike Training Club). He has worked with every category in Nike from Nike SB to Nike football and everything in between. The projects range from apparel/footwear development contributions to working with Nike signature athletes and more.

Renee Max

As far back as I can remember, I was an active kid. At nine years old, I fell in love with ballet. I enjoyed the discipline and focus that was needed to execute each step and position. At age sixteen, I summered at the Chicago City Ballet School.

Years later, I walked into the local gym and knew I'd found my calling. At first, I had no clue what I was doing, but I began to learn. Like many women, my workouts initially consisted mostly of cardio and soon learned how to use the weights properly on the gym floor. I ran The Marine Marathon in Washington DC, the LA Marathon, and soon after, with the encouragement of my instructor, I got my spin certificate and began teaching classes.

In time, I transitioned out of my office job and committed myself to a serious change. I earned my personal training certification and became a full-time personal trainer at Equinox. Currently I do private training and group fitness class at Equinox.

I continue to stay up to date with the latest traditional and non-traditional workouts. I'm a certified Level 1 & 2 Precision Nutrition Coach, AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and hold certifications in TRX Suspension Training, Kettlebell 1 & 2, Steel Mace, Pre and Post-Natal and Schwinn, Keiser and SPIN indoor cycling.. In my 40's, I competed in two Figure Competitions where my knowledge about body building and nutrition went to the next level. Now, in my 50's, I still maintain many of the healthy habits that I learned years ago.I truly believe in the positive and long-lasting benefits of exercise and healthy eating.

Cristian Delvalle

Cristian found CrossFit in 2015 while in college, looking for a way to turn his lifestyle around. What started as a personal goal turned into something bigger: he’s lost over 120 pounds naturally over the past 11 years, became a certified nutritionist and along the way he found a real passion for coaching and helping others through their own transformation.

He started coaching CrossFit in Wilmington, NC in 2015, and his competitive background includes qualifying for CrossFit Regionals with a team in 2018, plus a 4th place finish in the Open division at Wodapalooza with a team.

For the past two and a half years, Cristian has coached strength and conditioning at Code 3 Hawthorne, especially drawn to Olympic weightlifting after more than 10 years of training the sport. He holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from NC State University, and is currently pursuing his MBA at UCLA Anderson while building a startup in the weight management space.

He’s excited to bring that same energy and community focus to Rypen and can’t wait to work with the team here.
