Meet the founder: a look of the work of Rypen Fitness founder,Ryan Lauderdale, through the years

Ryan Lauderdale's story is one of hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence. He is an accomplished personal trainer, entrepreneur, and strength and conditioning professional who has dedicated his life to helping people achieve their sports, health & fitness goals. With years of experience in the industry, Ryan has become a respected leader in his field, known for his exceptional leadership skills, creative aesthetic, and ability to present new concepts and programs to all ages and fitness backgrounds. He has been able to make significant contributions to multi-million dollar projects that have had a worldwide impression.


One of Ryan's most notable accomplishments has been his role as a Nike Master Trainer, a title that he earned after years of hard work and dedication to his craft. As one of the original twelve Nike Master Trainers in the United States, Ryan was hand-picked and vetted by Nike to train and develop other trainers coming into the Nike training network.

Throughout his career, Ryan has had the opportunity to work with many well known athletes, celebrities and heads of corporations. Ryan has programmed training for young rising basketball stars for Nike EYBL (Elite Youth Basketball League), where many future NBA stars have emerged from.


Ryan has also worked closely with Nike's digital team on beta versions of their app, the Nike Training Club, which has millions of downloads worldwide. He has programmed workouts for the app and even led a successful live workout in the Nike Training Club app and on stages for the NTC Tour.


Ryan's work with Nike extended beyond just training, as he worked hand in hand with Nike creative directors and top industry directors, photographers, and videographers on the direction of photoshoots and digital ad campaigns. He conducted one-on-one interviews with Nike signature athletes and professionals and was an integral part of the ideation and execution of the Nike pop-up gym in LA that celebrated the anniversary of the "Just Do It" ad campaign.


Ryan's has represented the brand as a model and brand ambassador in national ad campaigns with Nike and partners of the brand. These ads were seen on Nike.com, other Nike digital platforms, Nike email mailers, Kohl’s, Dick Sporting Goods and Netflix.


But Ryan's achievements don't stop there. In 2010, he founded Rypen Fitness Solutions LLC, a fitness and performance company that specializes in athletic performance, fitness for all levels, and small group training. Since then, he has been a consultant for Nike Inc since 2011 and a consultant. He has also worked hand in hand on various projects with many marketing agencies such as OBE (On Board Experiential Marketing), 32 Bear, Encompass and Nike Global imaging studio.


Ryan's entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to excellence are further demonstrated in his work as a consultant/sports performance lead for CAA Hockey since 2018 and his partnership with the LA Junior Kings as director of training.


Ryan's commitment to helping others achieve their fitness goals has led him to found the Rypen Performance Lab in 2020. RPL is an elite private performance facility focused on improving performance for professional athletes as well as everyday athletes.


Before his time at Nike, Ryan worked as a Tier 3+ Trainer at Equinox Manhattan Beach. Ryan conducted program design and facilitated individual and group training sessions. He created and coached signature classes at the South Bay location, which were a huge success. Ryan also trained high-level executives and collegiate athletes during his time there.


Prior to Equinox, Ryan was a Sports Performance Coach at Velocity Sports Performance Redondo Beach. He was an assistant performance coach on the speed council alongside US Olympic gold medalist Shawn Crawford for the 2009 and 2010 NFL draft class. Ryan led and programmed for adult strength classes, adult fitness classes, elite youth strength classes, and group performance classes. He would later become the VP of Human Performance for Velocity Sports Performance.


Ryan's work has not gone unnoticed. He has been featured on the morning TV show "Good Day LA" as a representative of Nike, where he talked about the global sensation Nike gym (JDI), the history of the "Just do It" ad campaign, and what it meant for the history of sport. Ryan has also been featured in the cover of 'Southbay Magazine' which was to recognize his impact on the hockey world and celebrating one of his athletes becoming a 1st round pick in the NHL draft. Theoughout his career Ryan has had multiple athletes get drafted and signed to NHL teams.


Overall, Ryan Lauderdale's career has been nothing short of impressive. His contributions to the fitness and sports industry have been significant, and his dedication to his craft is unparalleled.
